...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Snow accumulations between
  6 and 12 inches with locally higher amounts in the most persistent
  bands. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will result in blowing and
  drifting snow.

* WHERE...Northern Herkimer County. The greatest snowfall amounts
  are expected to occur near the Route 8 corridor.

* WHEN...Until 4 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Roads will likely become slick and hazardous.
  Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing
  snow.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The lake effect band is expected to lift
  northwards this evening, with the heaviest snow overnight before
  the band drops back to the south tomorrow.
