...AN INTENSE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WILL CONTINUE TO SINK SOUTH
ACROSS PARTS OF CHAUTAUQUA...CATTARAUGUS...AND FAR SOUTHERN ERIE
COUNTIES...

HAZARDS...A lake effect snow band which can rapidly reduce visibility
to less than a quarter of a mile. This lake effect snow band is
producing extremely heavy snow at the rate of up to 3 inches per
hour and near whiteout conditions at times

LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 706 PM EST, a lake effect snow band was
along a line extending from 12 miles north of North East to Arcade
and was gradually drifting southward. The most intense portion of
the band was across far northern Chautauqua county, including the
Dunkirk area. The band is expected to continue to steadily drift
south and eventually weaken this evening.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
Dunkirk, Fredonia, Springville, Westfield, Gowanda, Ashford, Arcade,
Franklinville, Mayville, Ashford Hollow, Chaffee, Lake Erie State
Park, East Concord, SUNY Fredonia, Concord, Collins, Portland,
Yorkshire, Sardinia, and Sheridan.

This includes Interstate 90 between exits 59 and 61.
