FQCN20 CWVR 221819 MARINE WEATHER STATEMENT FOR THE PACIFIC WATERS ISSUED BY ENVIRONMENT CANADA AT 10:18 A.M. PST SATURDAY 22 FEBRUARY 2025. A departing low over the Alaskan Panhandle is generating southerly gale force winds over northern waters this morning. A frontal system traversing Explorer today to lie over Vancouver Island this afternoon is generating southerly gales across southern waters, except southerly storm force near the headlands of Vancouver Island. Southerly gales will be maintained through this afternoon over northern and central waters. In the wake of the frontal system, winds will veer to light moderate southwest over southern waters and strong to gales southwest over northern and central waters tonight. On Sunday, a low pressure system will move into the offshore waters. Winds accompanying this low will rise to southwest strong to gale force over the offshore waters. There is uncertainty as to the exact track of the low as it moves towards the coast at this time. END/PSPC
