Today: A weather system moving through today will bring scattered rain and snow showers mainly in northeast WA and north-central ID during the morning, expanding in coverage through the afternoon. The mountains will see the highest chance of showers, with lower chances across eastern WA. A few thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon that could bring gusty winds, which is the main concern with these thunderstorms. Winds will increase through the morning, peaking in the afternoon with gusts of 20 to 40 mph. The Cascades, western Basin, Palouse, and Blue mountains will see the strongest winds, with a potential for gusts up to 50 mph. Overall, precipitation will be light, with localized higher amounts under the strongest thunderstorms. Light snow is possible over Stevens Pass, but snow that falls will likely melt quickly due to the sun angle. Daytime highs will range from the upper 40s to 50s, with a few spots around the deeper basin seeing 60s. After Saturday, the weather turns quieter with mostly dry conditions and some sun through the week. Sunday morning will be chilly, with lows in the 20s and 30s with a possibility of frost as well.
