...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WEST CENTRAL MESA AND EAST
CENTRAL GRAND COUNTIES THROUGH 600 PM MDT...

At 525 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 14
miles southwest of Fruita, or 21 miles west of Grand Junction, moving
northwest at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and
         outdoor objects is possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of west central Mesa
and east central Grand Counties.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 1 and 6.
 Interstate 70 in Utah between mile markers 221 and 231.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
